Welcome to the manual for the GOAT CMS.

Introduction
The Grid Operator Assessment Training (GOAT) project aims to train power grid operators and other professionals in how to resolve specific issues safely and effectively. The project is managed from a cognitive science perspective to make training as effective as possible.
The GOAT Content Management System (CMS) allows for instructors to create and manage content for GOAT. By using the robust Course Editor, instructors can create training scenarios representing a wide variety of transmission grid problems, and guide trainees on the best way to solve these problems. Instructors can then view the trainees' progress on the Statistics page and evaluate where each trainee is struggling.
Features
- Course editor: The editor allows instructors to create complex training scenarios to interactively teach trainees how to resolve certain problems. The editor is designed to be intuitive and responsive to ensure scenario development is as quick and accurate as possible.
- Collaboration features: Course owners can invite other users to edit courses and leave comments, ensuring a whole team of experts can work together to create effective training material.
- Statistics: Once a scenario has been published and attempted by trainees, course staff can view detailed statistics about these attempts on the Statistics page. Here they can see which scenarios trainees are having the most trouble with, view progress for specific trainees, and even see each action in an individual attempt to learn exactly how the trainee can be best instructed.
- Detailed instructions: This manual offers explanations and tutorials alongside the software to make it easier to understand the complex systems GOAT uses and interacts with.
